With the success of Power of the Pens and Pen Scrappers, Wacom learned that users of their products were yearning for an online destination to congregate and share their artwork as well as knowledge with regard to Wacom tablets. The result is Wacom Community. Registered users of this social networking site can posts digital art as well as tips and tricks on how to use Wacom tablets more efficiently. Recently added functionality to the site included Contests, where users can submit artwork as entries for themed contests.
Wacom Community is built using the Zend PHP Framework. My role as Front-End Developer for the project included styling the layouts and templates with CSS and jQuery JavaScript. Among the jQuery plugins used and implemented on the site include a Horizontal Accordion, ClueTip, and jCarousel. A plugin I wrote for the site, HoverTip, is also used on the site to display additional information about an image when hovered over.
